Things you can do at home to help
At every opportunity, count objects around the home and in the environment. Ensure your child touches or moves each item as they count it. This way they will count every object and are less likely to over count as often their voice moves faster than their finger. Encourage your child to count objects/toys when tidying up. You are a great role model for this and it can even become a game! Every day, you can count when going up or down the stairs. You could get your child to count how many claps you have done. This can also be good for estimating. Ask your child how many they think you will do.
